A Course on Madhubani Art
under the auspices of the internationally reputed National Museum Volunteers (NMV), BANGKOK
Tuesday, 13 January 2015
It was a rare honour to me when the internationally renowned institution, National Museum Volunteers (NMV), Bangkok, gave me an opportunity to speak about Madhubani Art.
Under their scheme, AT HOMES, I gave a three-hour long talk on Madhubani Art. Admission was through the NMV At Homes project. Eminent personalities from NMV took part in this event. The enthusiasm of the participants was touching.
Using slides, artwork and other means, many participants were given a complete picture of the ancient system of art. History, culture, philosophy and present position of Madhubani were explained.
The participants, who are all members of NMV, themselves designed madhubani art using the base that I had created for each one of them.
At the end of the event, the participants were given presents of Swami Vivekananda literature among others in the end. Everyone went home happy.
