Contemplative Art
Painting is an ancient form of creative expression. Since times unknown, artists in every part of the world have been painting, giving expression to their imagination, thoughts and emotions. Of these paintings, much has been lost. But what has remained is a huge collection of excellent artwork and there are numerous museums and exhibitions all over the world. However, these paintings are not of the same form or same type.
There are numerous forms of art. These forms are given different names. There are thus numerous schools of art--old and new. Painting, in particular, has many schools. But that does not mean the doors to new forms is closed. Newer forms of painting always come up.
And thus we have a new form of art.
What is Contemplativism?
Contemplativism is a new form of art. It is a harmonious blend of the ancient and the modern. It is a harmonious combination of the eternal values of the world and the modern values. It is a harmonious blend of the eternal knowledge of the Vedas and the modern ways of thinking. Contemplative school of Art is a system which combines the old and the new, to create a new future.
In the word "contemplation", there is already an answer to the doubt as to which form of modern art we are speaking about. So, Contemplative school of Art is a harmonious blend of contemporary art with the eternal tradition of contemplation. Contemplation, introspection and meditation are imperative for this form of art. We dive deep within and bring out newer meanings to the mantras and verses of the Vedas.
I have thought of this school to be one of the important forms of future art because there is an awakening in the minds of people everywhere towards higher life. People everywhere are searching for meaning. So, contemplativism as a form of art will definitely have great scope, it is hoped.
